Victim of Fraud
Bubba informs the community about cases of unscrupulous individuals illegally using our identity on websites, social media, and Instagram posts to defraud and scam consumers online.
It is important for consumers to be aware of the main forms of scams and fraud, which include:
- Fake Instagram account scams: These involve fake profiles that request payment or personal information from Instagram contest participants, promising prizes that are never delivered.
- Credit card fraud: Fake websites are created that request credit card information and then clone it.
- Phishing: Persuasive emails are used to obtain personal or financial information from consumers, such as family members' details. This involves payment or the disclosure of compromised personal financial information from remote locations, even abroad.
In addition, the use of "pharming" has been observed, where websites are created abroad offering products at very low and attractive prices to attract customers, but the products are then never delivered.
The FBI has identified this type of fraud and has issued community advisories, generating citizen alerts so that consumers are informed and cautious when faced with potential fraud.
In this regard, Bubba wants to make it clear that it does not request personal information or advance payments before finalizing a product purchase.
We recommend that all our customers always protect their computers and devices with antivirus or malware detection tools, block unknown email addresses, only download software from authorized sources, and never provide sensitive information on unknown websites.
Additionally, we advise caution with requests for advance payment and remind you that the existence of a shipment or tracking number does not necessarily guarantee that the item is in Bubba's custody or control.
